Dulles Metrorail Silverline Project

The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project, the Silver Line, is a 23 mile extension of the current Washington Metrorail System. It is being built in two phases. Phase 1, from East Falls Church through Tysons Corner to Wiehle Avenue in Reston, opened for passenger service on July 26, 2014.

Phase 2 will extend westward from Wiehle Avenue to Ashburn in eastern Loudoun County, and it will be completed in approximately five years. When Phase 2 is finished, the Silver Line will provide a one-seat no transfer ride from Loudoun and Dulles Airport to downtown Washington and east to Largo, MD.


At-A-Glance

· Phase 2 is 11.4 miles long and includes 6 stations:

o Reston Town Center

o Herndon

o Innovation Center (Herndon)

o Dulles International Airport

o Route 606 (Ashburn)

o Route 772 (Ashburn)
